When should you avoid handling a snake?
Avoid handling for a day or two after feeding.
- Only before lights turn on
- For a day or two after feeding ✔
- Only while changing water
Why: Handling too soon can disturb digestion. BGSU advises leaving a boa alone for a day or two after a meal, and longer after large meals.
Huh, didn't know that: Large boas may need four or five days to digest a meal fully.
