SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/school-sleep-hours
How much sleep does a school-age kid need?
9 to 12 hours a night for ages 6 to 12.
- 7 hours, same as grown-ups
- 9 to 12 hours ✔
- 14 hours, naps included
Why: CDC says kids 6 to 12 need 9 to 12 hours. Enough sleep helps attention, mood, and memory at school.
Huh, didn't know that: Teens 13 to 17 need 8 to 10 hours, which is still more than most adults.
