The fire triangle says a fire needs which three things?

Heat, fuel and oxygen.

  1. Wood, matches and wind
  2. Heat, fuel and oxygen ✔
  3. Heat, smoke and ash

Why: A fire only burns when it has heat, fuel and oxygen. Take away any one side of the triangle and the fire goes out, which is how water and dirt put out a fire.

Huh, didn't know that: The Park Service fire triangle lesson comes from the Forest Service Fire Lab curriculum.

The dad joke
Why did the campfire break up with the wood? It needed space, and oxygen.
