SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/scout-mountain-lion-no-crouch

A mountain lion is watching you. Why shouldn't you crouch down?

Crouching makes you look like four-legged prey.

  1. It makes you look like prey ✔
  2. It hurts your knees
  3. It scares the lion away

Why: Stand tall, face the lion, raise your arms and open your jacket to look bigger. Don't run and don't crouch, even to pick something up. Fight back if attacked.

Huh, didn't know that: If you have small children with you, pick them up so they don't panic and run.
