SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/scout-tick-shower-2-hours
After a hike in tick country, when should you shower to cut your Lyme disease risk?
Within two hours of coming indoors.
- Within two hours ✔
- The next morning
- After two days
Why: The CDC says showering within two hours of coming indoors lowers your risk of Lyme disease. It also helps wash off ticks that haven't latched on and is a good time to check.
Huh, didn't know that: Check under the arms, in and around the ears, behind the knees, in the hair, and around the waist.
What did the tick say to the hiker? I'm really attached to you.
