- At least 6 feet ✔
- About 1 foot, they can't reach far
- None, if it isn't rattling
Why: Tuzigoot National Monument says to give all snakes at least six feet of space. Its guidance says rattlesnakes can strike up to two-thirds of their body length.
Huh, didn't know that: If you hear a rattle but can't see the snake, the Park Service says stand still and look before you move, so you don't step toward it.
Why are snake races so exciting? They're always neck and neck.
