SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/wood-no-restart
OSHA requires woodworking machines to not do what when power returns after an outage?
Restart on their own where it could cause injury.
- Turn off all lights
- Restart on their own ✔
- Run slower
Why: A machine that restarts by itself after a power cut can start while someone is clearing it or changing a blade. OSHA 1910.213(b)(3) requires that machines not auto-restart where injury could result.
Huh, didn't know that: OSHA 1910.213(a)(11) requires portable electric woodworking machines over 90 volts to ground to be grounded.
Why do you never want to invite a tree to your party? Because they never leaf when you want them to.
