SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/wood-push-fence-side
Which side of the blade should you push stock on, according to Woodcraft?
The side the fence is on.
- The side away from the fence
- Either side
- The side the fence is on ✔
Why: Woodcraft says pushing on the outboard side, away from the fence, makes the piece bind and can cause kickback. Keep your push between the blade and the fence.
Huh, didn't know that: Rockler says never force material through a cut; if it needs more effort than usual, stop and check the setup.
