SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/work-desk-sitting
How often should you take a break from sitting at your desk?
Every 30 minutes. Stand up, stretch, or walk around for at least a minute.
- Every 30 minutes ✔
- Once every 2 hours
- Only on your lunch break
Why: Sitting for long periods slows your metabolism and strains your spine. Frequent, short movement breaks keep blood flowing and muscles loose.
Huh, didn't know that: Using a standing desk helps, but walking around is much better than just standing still all day.
Why did the desk go to the doctor? It had a bad back.
