SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/cadet-double-time-versus-mark-time
Which movement marches in place at quick time?
Mark time keeps the cadence while staying in place.
- Mark time ✔
- Double time
- Forward march
Why: Mark time keeps the feet moving without forward travel. Double time does the opposite, moving the unit faster than normal marching.
Huh, didn't know that: Double time uses 180 steps per minute with 30-inch steps.
Why did mark time go nowhere? It was happy in its place.
