SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/cadet-drill-double-time
A flight marching in quick time gets Double Time, MARCH. What does each cadet do?
One more quick-time step, then step off at double time.
- Start running on the very next step
- Take one more quick-time step, then step off in double time ✔
- Halt and then start running
Why: The command of execution is given as a foot strikes the ground. Cadets take one more step in quick time and then begin double time, a jog-like march.
Huh, didn't know that: Going back, Quick Time, MARCH means two more double-time steps, then quick time again.
Why did the cadet like double time? Twice the steps, same great company.
