If your drive wheels start to spin from too much power, what should you do?
Take your foot off the accelerator.
- Take your foot off the accelerator ✔
- Brake harder
- Shift up and speed up
Why: Too much power spins the drive wheels and you can lose control. Easing off the accelerator lets them grip again. On very slippery roads, push in the clutch too.
Huh, didn't know that: Speed up very gradually when traction is poor, as in rain or snow.
Why did the drive wheels slip? Too much gas, not enough grip.
