SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/diab-normal-a1c
What A1C result counts as normal?
Below 5.7%.
- Below 5.7% ✔
- 5.7% to 6.4%
- 6.5% or above
Why: On the A1C test, CDC lists below 5.7% as normal, 5.7% to 6.4% as prediabetes and 6.5% or above as diabetes.
Huh, didn't know that: A1C is reported as a percentage, not in mg/dL like a meter reading.
My A1C and I have a great relationship. I keep it low and it keeps me happy.
