When flying with a Remote ID broadcast module, what visual rule always applies?

Keep the drone in sight at all times.

  1. The person flying must see the drone at all times ✔
  2. A visual observer must be used
  3. The drone must stay within 400 feet laterally

Why: Under Part 89, the person flying a drone with a broadcast module must be able to see it at all times. The same condition applies when flying at a FRIA.

Huh, didn't know that: A broadcast module can be added to retrofit a drone that was built without Remote ID.
