During checks, your drone's control inputs seem delayed or out of sync. What should you do?
Stop flying until the control link is inspected and tested.
- Discontinue flight until the link is checked ✔
- Fly anyway and watch it closely
- Push harder on the sticks to compensate
Why: Laggy or mismatched controls point to a control link problem. The FAA advises grounding the drone until the link is reliable, to avoid loss of control or a flyaway.
Huh, didn't know that: Signs of electrical burning, like soot or sparks, or a change in motor sound are also red flags in the FAA's inspection chart.
My controller was so slow to respond, I thought it was thinking about its answer.
