Who must make sure a Part 107 drone is in safe condition before each flight?
The remote pilot in command.
- The remote pilot in command ✔
- The visual observer
- The drone's owner
Why: Before every flight, the remote PIC checks the drone to make sure it is in a condition for safe operation. Any problems found must be fixed before it flies.
Huh, didn't know that: The preflight also covers assessing weather, airspace, people and ground hazards nearby.
Why did the drone pilot look so closely at the propellers? He wanted to make sure everything was on the up and up.
