SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/drone-pic-briefs-crew
On a commercial drone job, who is responsible for briefing participants about emergency procedures?
The remote pilot in command must make sure everyone is briefed.
- The FAA inspector-in-charge
- The lead visual observer
- The remote PIC ✔
Why: Part 107 puts the briefing on the remote PIC. Before flight, the remote PIC must make sure every direct participant knows the conditions, emergency procedures, roles and hazards.
Huh, didn't know that: AC 107-2A says contingency plans should cover people or moving vehicles that wander into the operating area.
Why did the crew hold a briefing? They wanted everyone on the same flight page.
