Your Standard Remote ID drone stops broadcasting mid-flight. What must you do?

Land as soon as practicable.

  1. Notify the nearest ATC facility
  2. Land as soon as practicable ✔
  3. Finish the mission, then report it

Why: Part 89 says the person at the controls must land as soon as practicable if a Standard Remote ID drone is no longer broadcasting. Remote ID must work from takeoff to shutdown.

Huh, didn't know that: The drone's serial number must be listed on its Certificate of Aircraft Registration.
