Drone flight is restricted within what distance of a major stadium event?

3 nautical miles, from 1 hour before to 1 hour after.

  1. 1 nautical mile
  2. 3 nautical miles ✔
  3. 5 statute miles

Why: The FAA bans drones within 3 nautical miles of stadiums for MLB, NFL, NCAA Division One football and NASCAR, IndyCar and Champ Series races. It runs from one hour before to one hour after.

Huh, didn't know that: Event schedules for these restrictions are published on the FAA's SEAMS website.

The dad joke
Why did the drone stay home during the big game? It did not want to get flagged.
