Why: The closed-book Type I, II, III and Universal tests need a 70 percent to pass. Type I tests taken by mail have a higher bar of 84 percent. Mail-in Type I tests also can't count toward Universal.

Huh, didn't know that: Training material sent with mail-in Type I tests may not include sample questions that mimic the real test.
