SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/golf-birdie
What is a birdie in golf?
A birdie is one stroke under par.
- One stroke under par ✔
- Two strokes under par
- One stroke over par
Why: If a hole is a par 4, a score of 3 is a birdie.
Huh, didn't know that: The PGA of America says the bird names get bigger as scores get lower: birdie, eagle, albatross, condor.
I used to hit birdies all day, but now I only tweet about golf.
