Which is an application of APRS?
Real-time tactical digital communications with a map showing station locations.
- Voice over internet between repeaters
- Real-time digital messages with a map of stations ✔
- Counting stations signed into a repeater
Why: APRS, the Automatic Packet Reporting System, sends short data packets such as GPS position, text messages and weather. Software then plots stations on a map.
Huh, didn't know that: Most US APRS activity is on 2 meters, at 144.390 MHz.
Why did the APRS tracker never get lost? It always knew its position.
