Which of the following describes DMR?
Time-multiplexing two digital voice signals on one 12.5 kHz repeater channel.
- Automatic position tracking for FM mobiles
- Hands-off computer logging while driving
- Two digital voice signals sharing one 12.5 kHz channel ✔
Why: DMR, Digital Mobile Radio, splits a 12.5 kHz channel into two time slots. Each slot can carry a separate digital voice conversation.
Huh, didn't know that: To join a DMR talkgroup, you program your radio with the group's ID or code.
Why are DMR radios so good at sharing? They take turns, one time slot at a time.
