SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/hunt-blaze-orange-visible

Which color is most visible in the field and not found in nature?

Blaze or hunter orange.

  1. Fire engine red
  2. Blaze or hunter orange ✔
  3. Red and black plaid

Why: Fluorescent orange stands out from a distance and in heavy cover because nothing in the woods looks like it. It helps keep hunters from being mistaken for game. Hunter education credits it with helping cut hunting incidents.

Huh, didn't know that: Bowhunters are taught to wear orange while walking to and from their hunting spot.

The dad joke
Knock knock. Who's there? Orange. Orange who? Orange you glad you can see me?
