SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/hunt-leave-a-plan
Before leaving for a hunt, what should you always do with your hunt plan?
Tell someone and leave a written copy at home.
- Keep it secret so no one takes your spot
- Leave a copy with a family member or friend ✔
- Post it publicly online
Why: A hunt plan says where you'll be, who's with you and when you'll be back. If you don't return, rescuers know exactly where to look.
Huh, didn't know that: The hunter education saying is 'Plan your hunt, and hunt your plan.' Don't change locations without telling anyone.
Why did the map go to school? It wanted to know where it was going.
