SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/hunt-thank-landowner
Which is a good way to thank a landowner who lets you hunt?
Give back, like sharing processed meat or helping with chores.
- Share some processed game meat or help fix fences ✔
- Bring more friends next time
- Leave your stand up year round
Why: Hunter education suggests asking the landowner what you can give back. Sharing meat, helping with fences or buildings, and picking up trash all build good relationships.
Huh, didn't know that: Ask the landowner whether gates should be left open or closed. Leaving gates wrong is a classic slob-hunter mistake.
Why did the fence love the hunter? He always mended things.
