In level flight, which instrument is considered the primary pitch instrument?
The altimeter is primary for pitch in level flight.
- Airspeed indicator
- Altimeter ✔
- Vertical speed indicator
Why: In level flight, a pitch error shows up as an altitude change, so the altimeter is the primary pitch instrument. The attitude indicator, VSI and airspeed indicator support it.
Huh, didn't know that: The airspeed indicator gives only an indirect indication of pitch attitude.
