Each dot is 2 degrees off course.

  1. 1 degree
  2. 2 degrees ✔
  3. 5 degrees

Why: A VOR needle is very sensitive. The outer edge of the center circle is 2 degrees off course, and each dot adds another 2 degrees. A few dots of deflection already means you are well away from the radial.

Huh, didn't know that: The TO/FROM indicator shows whether the selected course takes you to or from the station, not which way the airplane is pointing.

The dad joke
Why did the VOR needle get a job as a mood ring? It swings with every little change.
