What is the maximum arresting force a personal fall arrest system may impose on a worker?
1,800 pounds is the maximum fall arrest force.
- 900 pounds
- 1,800 pounds ✔
- 5,000 pounds
Why: 1926.502(d)(16)(ii) limits the maximum arresting force on a worker to 1,800 pounds when the system is used with a body harness.
Huh, didn't know that: The same rule says the system must be rigged so a worker can free fall no more than 6 feet.
