Which operation triggers the 100-hour inspection rule?
Carrying a person for hire or providing an aircraft for paid flight instruction.
- Only when it flies at night
- Before every cross-country flight
- Carrying a person for hire ✔
Why: An aircraft carrying a person other than crew for hire, or provided by an instructor giving paid instruction, must have had an annual or 100-hour inspection within the preceding 100 hours of time in service.
Huh, didn't know that: An annual inspection can count as the 100-hour inspection, but a 100-hour does not replace the annual.
My plane hit 100 hours and asked for a checkup. Turns out it just wanted attention.
