SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/tech-email-bcc
You Bcc someone on an email. What can the other recipients see about that Bcc recipient?
They cannot see the Bcc recipient's name or address.
- Their name, in gray
- Their name, but not their address
- Nothing, Bcc names stay hidden ✔
Why: Bcc stands for blind carbon copy. The Bcc recipient gets the message, but the other recipients do not see that person's name or address.
Huh, didn't know that: Many junk mail filters flag messages that use Bcc, so the message may land in a junk folder.
Why did the email bring a ladder? To reach the high-priority folder!
