SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/vb-libero-attack
Under FIVB rules, when can a libero hit the ball over the net as an attack?
Only if part of the ball is below the top of the net.
- Only from the front row
- Only if part of the ball is below the net top ✔
- Any time behind the attack line
Why: A libero may not complete an attack hit from anywhere if the whole ball is above the top of the net at contact. If part of it is below, the height restriction does not apply.
Huh, didn't know that: If a libero finger-sets from the front zone, a teammate may not complete an attack while the ball is entirely above the net top.
Why does the libero keep it low? They like to stay grounded.
