SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/vb-overlap-at-serve
When must receiving-team players be in their correct rotation spots?
At the moment the ball is served.
- The whole rally
- Only before the first rally of a set
- At the moment of the serve ✔
Why: The receiving team must be in rotational order when the server hits the ball. The serving team's players may stand anywhere at that moment.
Huh, didn't know that: After the service hit, players on both teams may move anywhere on their own court and free zone.
Why did the volleyball players freeze at the serve? They did not want to overlap their welcome.
