What defines a lap joint?
The surfaces of the two pieces overlap.
- The surfaces of the two pieces overlap ✔
- The edges meet in one plane
- The pieces meet at 90 degrees as a T
Why: A lap joint is two overlapping pieces welded where they meet. Thicker material needs more overlap.
Huh, didn't know that: Miller says overlap should be set by the thickness of the two pieces.
What do you call birds who stick together? Vel-crows.
