Gas welding light work up to 1/8 inch uses which shade in OSHA's guide?
Shade 4 or 5.
- Shade 10
- Shade 14
- Shade 5 ✔
Why: Gas flames are much dimmer than electric arcs, so the lenses are lighter. OSHA lists shade 4 or 5 for light gas welding up to 1/8 inch.
Huh, didn't know that: For heavy gas welding on 1/2 inch metal and over, the guide lists shade 6 or 8.
How can flames afford to be so bright? Fire works.
