SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/weld-stick-low-hydrogen-endings
Stick electrodes with AWS codes ending in which digits are low hydrogen?
15, 16 or 18.
- 10, 11 or 12
- 13, 14 or 24
- 15, 16 or 18 ✔
Why: Rods like E7015, E7016 and E7018 have excellent low hydrogen properties. That helps prevent weld cracking on thick material.
Huh, didn't know that: Miller says thick material needs an electrode with maximum ductility and low hydrogen.
What do the other elements say about hydrogen? He's such a loner!
