How do you say 'Monday' in Mandarin Chinese?
Xīngqīyī (星期一), literally 'week one'.
- xīngqīyī (星期一) ✔
- xīngqīliù (星期六)
- yī yuè (一月)
Why: Days are xīngqī (week) plus a number, starting with Monday as one. Xīngqīliù (week six) is Saturday, and yī yuè is January.
Huh, didn't know that: Months follow a similar number pattern: yī yuè is January and èr yuè is February.
In Chinese, Monday is 'week one'. My week one always feels like week ten.
