Flying at or below VA protects the airplane against which control input?
One full control movement, in one axis, in smooth air.
- Several full inputs at the same time
- Any gust of any strength
- One full deflection of one control, once, in smooth air ✔
Why: VA means you can move a single control once to full deflection, in one axis, in smooth air without damage. It does not protect against several full inputs or combined inputs in more than one axis.
Huh, didn't know that: VA is the rough air speed: in severe turbulence, slow to VA or less to reduce stress on the structure.
Why is VA like a good friend? It only covers you for one big request at a time.
