SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/drone-accident-report-500
A drone mishap damages someone's property. Above what repair cost must it be reported to the FAA?
More than $500.
- $100
- $1,000
- $500 ✔
Why: Damage to property other than the drone must be reported within 10 days if repair costs more than $500. For a total loss, it is reported if the fair market value exceeds $500.
Huh, didn't know that: Damage to the drone itself never counts toward the $500 threshold.
Why did the drone pilot keep receipts? He wanted his paperwork to add up.
