Which of these can cause a lithium drone battery fire?

Improper charging, along with short circuits, extreme heat, damage or defects.

  1. Storing it at room temperature
  2. Improper charging ✔
  3. Using the manufacturer's charger

Why: Lithium batteries pack a lot of energy and can ignite. Shorts, bad charging, high heat, physical damage, rough handling or a defect can all set one off.

Huh, didn't know that: A battery fire in flight can cause loss of control of the drone, so the FAA suggests following the maker's handling advice.

The dad joke
Why did the battery go to the doctor? It was feeling a little drained.
