When may a Part 107 drone be flown from a moving car or boat?

Only over a sparsely populated area.

  1. Never, without a waiver
  2. Anywhere, if a visual observer drives
  3. Only over a sparsely populated area ✔

Why: Part 107 allows operating from a moving land or water vehicle only over a sparsely populated area. Flying from a moving aircraft is not allowed without a waiver.

Huh, didn't know that: Even then, the drone may not carry another person's property for compensation or hire.

The dad joke
I tried flying my drone from the boat. Now it thinks it is a seagull.
