SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/drone-one-aircraft-at-a-time
Without a waiver, how many drones may one person fly as remote PIC at the same time?
Just one.
- One ✔
- Two, if both stay in sight
- Three, with a visual observer
Why: Part 107 says a person may not fly the controls, act as remote PIC, or be a visual observer for more than one unmanned aircraft at the same time. Drone light shows fly under waivers.
Huh, didn't know that: Section 107.35 is on the FAA's list of rules that can be waived.
I tried flying two drones at once. Now I know why the rule is one at a time, and why I have two thumbs.
