SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/drone-vlos-corrective-lenses
Which vision aid may be used to keep a Part 107 drone in visual line of sight?
Corrective lenses only, like glasses or contacts.
- Binoculars
- Prescription glasses or contacts ✔
- A first-person-view (FPV) camera feed
Why: Part 107 requires vision unaided by any device other than corrective lenses. Binoculars and FPV screens do not count for visual line of sight.
Huh, didn't know that: Line of sight can be kept by the remote PIC and the person at the controls, or by a visual observer.
I tried to keep my drone in sight with binoculars. The FAA said that is a bit of a stretch.
