SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/ham-hertz-frequency
What is the unit of frequency?
Hertz, one cycle per second.
- Henry
- Farad
- Hertz ✔
Why: Frequency counts how many complete cycles a wave makes each second. One cycle per second is one hertz. Henry and farad are units for inductors and capacitors.
Huh, didn't know that: Heinrich Hertz proved radio waves exist with experiments in the late 1880s.
What did the radio wave say to the frequency counter? Stop checking up on me, it Hertz.
