Why should hunters wear latex or rubber gloves when field dressing game?
To protect against diseases wild animals can carry.

Why: Wild animals can carry germs that pass to people through small cuts or scrapes on the skin. Gloves are a simple barrier, and the CDC recommends them too.
Huh, didn't know that: Hunter education notes rabbits may carry tularemia, and wild hogs can carry brucellosis.
