In IFR controlled airspace, which of these must you report without being asked?
Unforecast weather you encounter.
- Your groundspeed every 10 minutes
- Every VOR passage under radar control
- Any unforecast weather conditions encountered ✔
Why: 91.183 requires you to report unforecast weather and other information relating to the safety of flight. It also requires position reports at designated reporting points, but under radar control only those ATC requests.
Huh, didn't know that: The rule says these reports must be made as soon as possible, while keeping a continuous watch on the right frequency.
Approach: "Citation 123, please give a cloud description on your descent." Citation: "They're white."
