How soon must an employer report a work-related death to OSHA?

Why: 29 CFR 1904.39 gives employers 8 hours to report a worker's death from a work-related incident. Hospitalizations, amputations and eye losses have a different deadline.
Huh, didn't know that: Every employer covered by the OSH Act must report these, even small ones that are exempt from keeping injury logs.
