SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/pb-server-number
In doubles scoring, what do server numbers 1 and 2 indicate?
Whether the current server is first or second for that side.
- Which team is serving
- How many faults the server has
- Whether the current server is first or second for that side ✔
Why: After each side out, the player on the right starts as server 1 and the partner is server 2. When server 1 loses a rally, the serve passes to server 2.
Huh, didn't know that: The server number belongs to that service turn, so it is set again after every side out.
Why did server 2 stay calm? It knew its turn was coming.
