SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/soc-throw-in-how
Which of these is required for a legal throw-in?
Both hands, from behind and over the head, with part of each foot on or behind the line.
- One hand is fine if it goes far
- Both hands, from behind and over the head ✔
- Feet may be lifted if facing the field
Why: The thrower must face the field, have part of each foot on the touchline or the ground outside it, and throw with both hands from behind and over the head.
Huh, didn't know that: If a bad throw enters the field, the opponents take it unless the referee lets them keep an advantage.
Why did the soccer player bring both hands to the throw-in? He didn't want to be half-handed.
