SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/vb-dig-legal-any-body-part
A dig is legal if the ball touches what part of the body?
Any part of the body may legally touch the ball.
- Any part ✔
- Only forearms
- Only hands
Why: A dig often uses the forearms, but the rules allow contact with any body part. The ball must not be caught or thrown.
Huh, didn't know that: Under FIVB rules the ball can even bounce off a foot and still be a legal hit.
Why do digs make good detectives? They cover the floor.
